Maintaining healthy, hydrated, and radiant skin is key
to achieving fall's luminous looks for day and dramatic looks for night, says Youngblood senior educator Valerie Hernandez.
"Makeup (for fall) is not about hiding under thick layers of makeup, it's all
about creating a brighter, more radiant complexion." One product she highly
recommends is Youngblood's
Hi-Def Hydrating Mineral Perfecting Powder
an innovative setting powder that
diffuses skin imperfections, absorbs oil, and controls shine. It's also ideal
for concealing and calming redness. "I am truly obsessed with it. I have used
it on myself and clients long enough to talk about it with pride," Valerie
gushes. "This multitasking powder is key to this season's healthy, dewy
flawless look that everyone is raving about." To apply, she recommends the
Super Powder Brush
or
Luxurious Powder Brush.
DAYTIME BEAUTY

To get an impeccable DAY look, Valerie
suggests an application of
Mineral Primer,
Hi-Def Hydrating Mineral Perfecting
Powder, and
Loose Mineral Foundation. "When applying loose foundation, use our
Large Kabuki brush
for a light coverage. I love this
brush, you can use it for face and body!"
For cheeks, she loves
Mineral Radiance in Sundance, which Valerie thinks is a "classic shade for day or
night. It not only helps you achieve a radiant look, but you can also use the
colors individually for eyeshadows." She also likes using sweet and soft blush
shades, like
Crushed Mineral Blush in Sherbert (Fig. 1) or Pressed Mineral Blush in Bashful on
the apple of the cheeks.
For eyes eyes, think light washes of
color and no harsh lines. Our
Pressed Eyeshadow Quad in Timeless
is perfect, it has a combination of
mattes and shimmers. To add more color, try it in Purple Majesty, which
contains shades like Moonstone (Fig. 2), Lilac Bouquet, Wild Orchid, and Heather Smoke (Fig. 3). If you want
even more color and shimmer, she suggests one of her favorite eye color
combinations-
Pink Diamond Pressed Individual Eyeshadow on the inner corners of
the eyes,
Kasbah Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow (Fig. 4), across the lid using our
eyeshadow brush,
using the flat side to apply colors to
the lid and tip of the brush for the crease, and
Pressed Individual Eyeshadow in Czar
on the crease.
Valerie says lips should be soft, just
like the eyes and cheeks. "Think beige/nude or pinky plum colors. If you're a
lipstick fan, opt for something subtle like
Cuvee or Barely Nude.
If you want to create a softer pout
with gloss, try
Poetic (Fig. 5)
or
Reflection."
NIGHTTIME GLAMOUR

Turn up the volume for a nighttime
look. For face, Valerie suggests an application of our Mineral Primer, Hi-Def
Hydrating Mineral Perfecting Powder, and Loose Mineral Foundation. To get
fuller coverage, use our
Ultimate Foundation brush or Small Kabuki brush when applying
loose foundation or our
Liquid Foundation brush for applying liquid foundation. Then
dust on Hi-Def Hydrating Mineral Perfecting Powder again.
For cheeks, she recommends one of her
favorites,
Loose Mineral Foundation in Coffee (Fig. 6),
to use as a matte bronzer across the
cheeks from the corner of the mouth to the top of the ears. Then, sweep it
across your hairline, sides of the nose, and under the chin. And here's a great
tip for photos-choose a blush shade for the apple of the cheeks with a little
more pigment for a bolder look, like
Crushed Mineral Blush in Rouge, Plumberry
(Fig. 7), or
Cabernet (another one of her obsessions).
Think jewel tones for eyes-golds,
greys, blues, taupes, and greens. "Our
Pressed Eyeshadow Quads are perfect. I
recommend Gemstones, an oldie but goodie," according to Valerie.
"For a
loose individual eyeshadow,
try Azurite (Fig. 8), Cashmere (Fig. 9), and Golden Beryl. If you prefer
pressed,
I like Storm, Platinum, Czar, Sapphire,
Bordeaux, and Zen, just to name a few."
Lips for fall are definitely dramatic.
Think bold, cherry or berry-stained
lipsticks. "Try Bistro, Vixen and Sheer Passion (Fig. 10)." And to create a
juicy pout, add a
lip gloss like Marrakech or Promiscuous to the center.
