The Finishing Touch

Whether you're lounging by the pool at some tropical resort, out shopping with your girlfriends, or running errands around town, the last thing you need is makeup meltdown. And if you happen to live where the humidity is sky-high, then we don't have to tell you what that can do to your makeup.

Youngblood's solution is our new Hi-Def Hydrating Mineral Perfecting Powder. We introduced this innovative product last month and have gotten amazing reviews about how it magically diffuses skin imperfections and creates a more polished look. This new powder is great for those who tend to be oily, as it naturally absorbs oils and controls shine. Women who have ruddy skin will love how our new Hi-Def powder conceals and calms redness. Plus, it imparts a cooling sensation when applied-perfect for those moments when your skin needs a refreshing boost of moisture.

Usage

You can use the powder before or after makeup application. Our artists recommend using it as a finishing powder to absorb excess oil and create a smooth, flawless finish. We suggest using the Luxurious Powder or Super Powder brush to apply the powder.

Bonus Tips from Pauline She suggests dusting on the Hi-Def Hydrating Mineral Perfecting Powder before you apply blush or bronzer to tone colors down a bit. You can also mix the powder in with a little Lunar Dust to use on your legs, for instance, to get an all-over sheen.

Dear Youngblood Pro:

Fall fashions are calling for bolder shades like bright reds, deep greens, and luxurious golds. To stay on top of the trend, we are introducing five new shades for lips, eyes, and cheeks that will have you looking sun-kissed to stunning in no time.

Lipsticks will be making a comeback. Based on what I've been seeing on the runways and in beauty magazines, the look is more matte, not an intense high-gloss like we have seen in previous seasons. Our new Vixen lipstick is the perfect red shade; it's a creamy and intense red matte lipstick with blue undertones so it complements any skin tone for a chic, classic look. Use it alone or with our new Truly Red Lip Liner, which keeps your color looking fresh. Eye makeup is all about definition and a touch of fantasy. Try our new pressed eyeshadows-Zen and Pink Diamond-to create looks that will look brilliant day or night.

Beautiful skin is always in, but fall 2009 is all about making skin look like it has been barely touched. To get a natural, fresh-faced glow, try our new Bashful pressed blush-a nude powder with pink undertones. Like all our blushes, Bashful is extremely easy to blend for a radiant finish. It imparts just the right amount of color to make your eyes and lips the center of attention.

I'm positive that these new fall colors will quickly become favorites in your kit. To learn how to use them properly, we've asked our very own makeup pro Philip Luque to share his application tips with you. Enjoy your new shades!

Sincerely,

Five New Shades You Will Fall For Next Season

August is an exciting month because while still enjoying summer weather, you also get to see the new and exciting colors for fall-deep greens and blues as well as bold reds and gold. Fall looks give you a chance to add some wow factor into your current makeup arsenal. Youngblood has definitely stepped up to the plate and is giving you some ammunition to create some stunning looks for the upcoming season.

Vixen Lipstick

Vixen is an absolute must-have if you want to create a classic red lip; it has an amazing texture and staying power.

Being a true red matte lipstick, it glides on smoothly without feeling dry or cakey on the lips. You can wear it full on for those who are a bit bolder in their looks or you can just tap a bit on your finger to lightly stain the lips for those who like more subtlety. If you prefer a glossier look you can always add a lip shine like Iceblush or a lip gloss like Reflection on top to give it some glow.

Truly Red Lip Liner Pencil

To enhance those luscious lips we also came out with a cherry-red lip liner called Truly Red.

This is a perfect match for Vixen and goes on effortlessly in the same tradition as all Youngblood liners. You can use Truly Red under other Youngblood lipsticks like Pink Lust, Sorbet, or Bliss. Have fun and experiment with different combinations to create your own fall lip look.

Zen and Pink Diamond Pressed Individual Eyeshadows

Zen is a deep forest green shadow that's perfect as an all over lid color.

Try it for a different twist on a smoky eye or in the lash line for a softer look. Pink Diamond gives you a more champagne pink look to the lid that you can use as an all over lid color to pop the eyes or in the corner of the eye to brighten for those that suffer from dark circles. Both colors feel buttery when applied and impart intense, long-lasting colors.

Bashful Mineral Blush

Our new blush is called Bashful; it's a great no-nonsense nude for those that like the cheeks a bit more natural.

And it's a subtle nude powder with pink undertones that will give you just the right amount of color to make your cheeks look amazing.

Get a Perfect Fall Look

Take Pink Diamond and apply all over the mobile part of the lid. Next take Willow and lightly define the crease with your crease brush. Then take Blackest Black or Slate eye liner and define the eyes top and bottom going right into the lash line. Now add a bit of color to the cheeks using Bashful and highlight the skin a bit using the lighter colors in Sundance Mineral Radiance.

Now line the lips with Truly Red and fill in with Vixen. If you're not that good at lining, just use your Ultimate concealer and brush to clean up and straighten the lip liner. Voila! Instant glamour!
