Summer's almost here and I can't think of a better way to usher it in than with some very exciting product news. Prime Time at the GLAAD Awards
Armed with loads of gift bags filled to the brim with its best-selling products, Youngblood came out in full force recently at the 20th Annual GLAAD Awards held in Los Angeles. The awards show honored A-list movie and TV celebrities, fashion designers, and media personalities who support and advance the organization's mission. Among those in attendance were Ellen DeGeneres, Jessica Alba, Portia de Rossi, Teri Hatcher, Ilene Chaiken, and Kathy Griffin, recipient of this year's Vanguard Award.
 Some of these celebrities were treated to an exclusive demo of Youngblood's newest products, including the Mineral Primer and the Minerals in the Mist, at the event's VIP Gift Suite backstage. Each celebrity received a customized gift bag and a hands-on treatment (literally) of the Mineral Primer by our very own makeup artist Valerie Hernandez. The primer was a big hit among the stars who tried it on such as Bruno Tonioli, and the cast of Desperate Housewives and Greek, among others. Here's a sample of what they said:

Featuring Celebrity Makeup Artist Valerie Hernandez
Q: I first became acquainted with Youngblood at a great spa in New Mexico. I currently use both the liquid mineral and loose mineral foundation to obtain the coverage that I need. Even though I use great primers, I still get a cakey look on my forehead and nose areas after about a couple of hours. How can I prevent this from happening?

A: Experts say, "Healthy skin is hydrated skin." There are some products that I could not live without for my application recipes. Our Mineral Primer and Minerals in the Mists can help revitalize and rejuvenate the skin cells as well as protect skin from environmental damage. We like to refer to our primer as one of the first "treatment primers" on the market. Here are some basic tips that I would recommend for you. First, cleanse your skin, spritz on one of our Mists, and then moisturize with your favorite moisturizer. Apply the Mineral Primer everywhere, follow with our Concealer, and then prep with the Loose Mineral Rice Setting Powder. Then apply our Loose Mineral Foundation using the Ultimate Foundation Brush or either one of our Kabuki Brushes.
You can finish the look with the Loose Mineral Rice and set it with our Minerals in the Mist for a healthy, dewy, and flawless look.

Professional makeup artist Valerie Hernandez has more than 10 years experience in the beauty industry. A graduate of Westmore Academy in Burbank, Calif., Valerie has worked with an array of talented artists and celebrities that includes Black Eyed Peas, Collective Soul, Britney Spears, and the Pussycat Dolls, among others.
As senior educator at Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, Valerie has traveled all over the world educating women about makeup techniques and products. "One of my most recognizable attributes is my ability to adapt to any situation," she says. "A wise man said, 'You're only as good as your last job.'"
