| | | Dear Youngblood Pro:
Spring has arrived! It's that special season that means new and beautiful beginnings. As I mentioned last month, I am so thrilled to be able to introduce two completely new products; MINERALS in the MIST and MINERAL PRIMER, as well as beautiful new shades as part of our Spring Collection.I'm so very excited to be a part of The Makeup Show here in Los Angeles on March 15-16. This is the first time this show is taking place on the West Coast so we are all anticipating a huge turnout of professional makeup artists. We will be there educating and providing these new products as well as our full line of Mineral Cosmetics. I hope you all can attend and give us your feedback. Check our Pro Site for the show details: YBSKIN.COM/PRO. See you there! | | Spring 2009 The beauty and style icons are buzzing about all the new additions to Youngblood's line of luxe quality cosmetics for Spring '09. Minerals in the Mist are definitely one of Youngblood's most exciting launches to date. These Mineral Mists lock in vital minerals and vitamins leaving your complexion with a natural, dewy finish. Simply mist on skin before moisturizing, after makeup, or any time for a refreshing pick-me-up.
Mineral Primer is another exciting product you'll quickly be adding to your 'must haves' for Spring. This non-greasy, silk-to-powder formula is rich in vitamins E and A and has been specifically formulated with minerals to naturally energize and protect cells, stimulate collagen growth. | Celebrity Makeup Artist: Philip Luque
The complexion for spring is very, very clean. In fact, most trends are going for bare skin, but in reality, we all know that this look might not work for everyone. Luckily, you can get that natural look with Youngblood's Foundations just by using a different brush, and using our new Mineral Primer to make your foundation last. First, use one pump of the Mineral Primer on to the fingertips and emulsify before applying to the skin. Next, a light dusting of Rice Powder to help seal in moisture and prolong the wear even more. Now, try using the Large Kabuki brush with your Loose Mineral Foundation for a nice light coverage, and go back to spot treat with the concealer brush dipped in the left over loose if needed. If you're still suffering from the winter dry skin blues, try using a little Deep-Sea Hydrating Complex with the Foundation brush on those dry areas and using the large Kabuki again, lightly dust the Loose on top. Once the foundation is, try misting one of Youngblood's new Minerals in the Mist to set. Lip trends for spring go from soft nudes to bright pinks. A lot of women are creatures of habit when it comes to their lipsticks. With the new Pink Lust Lipstick, you can be right on with this spring trend. Pink Lust is a soft, shimmering shade that looks amazing on anyone and works with any Youngblood lip liner. If you are looking for fuller lips, try this trick I like to do on all my clients. When women draw their lips, they tend to overdraw the whole mouth, which ends up looking clownish. Just over draw the center to make it look more natural. Using your favorite Youngblood liner, line the lips naturally right at the lip line, then just over draw the Cupid 's bow or top part of lip and bring it down to the natural lip line. Next, line the bottom center by dropping it just below the natural line and back up to the natural. Then add a bit of the new Promiscuous lip gloss at the center of the lips to really pop that pout. If you tend to be a little shaky with your liner try using a bit of your Ultimate concealer with your Concealer Brush to clean up that lip line and give you the perfect shape. For the eyes, the trick is to keep the look clean; the heavier the shadow and liner, the older you will look. As we age our eyes tend to drop a bit, so the trick is to open them up. So remember this tip next time when you do your eyes. A shimmer will make any area you use it on pop more and a matte will make it a bit softer. If you see more brow bone than lid, start by using a soft shimmer on the lid like Prism to bring this area out more and a more matte shadow on the brow bone like Alabaster. This technique will put more emphasis on the lid and less on the already predominant brow bone. If you see more lid than brow bone, you will do the opposite by using a more matte shadow like Flush on the lid and a shimmer like Halo on the brow bone. If you're using a crease color be sure to keep it matte if you are experiencing crepiness on the lid since this area shows a bit more when eyes are open. When doing your eyeliner try using Youngblood's newest pencil - Passion - really close to the lash line to define the eyes.
