Q & A With Office Manager and Product Development Manager Lori de Jarnett

Karen Bellamy

In her responsibilities as Office Manager and Product Development Manager, Lori de Jarnett is a valued member of the Youngblood team.  We recently sat down with her to learn more about her responsibilities at Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.

Lori, how long have you been with Youngblood?  I've been with the company for two and a half years.

In your opinion, what has been the biggest change since you joined the company?  We've seen such rapid, tremendous growth and demand for the brand.  This has led to the necessity to expand the staff and the responsibilities of the entire team.

Which areas of your job do find most rewarding?  Multi-tasking between Product Development and the daily responsibilities of Office Manager.  One day can involve creating new products or categories and the next day I'm working on corporate travel, tradeshows or overseeing marketing projects at the development stage.

What would you say is your biggest challenge at your position? Planning accordingly to meet all deadlines, as well as maintaining the daily structure and schedule within the office.

Summarize your thoughts on working for Youngblood...I truly enjoy the "industry" itself.  Working for Pauline and Peter has allowed me to utilize my creative side and my vast experience from other industries.  The fast paced atmosphere makes every day challenging and exciting.

Luis Asks: Is Youngblood Mineral Foundation good for dry skin?

Dear Luis,

I hear this question a lot in my Youngblood travels. The answer is... YES! Any skin type is suitable for our Loose Mineral Foundation.

Youngblood doesn't have zinc oxide, which can cause dryness. If you have dry skin, simply moisturize it well, then add Mineral Rice Setting Powder on top to bind the moisturizer to the skin and finish by applying your loose foundation for a flawless face. We also offer Liquid Mineral Foundation, which is ideal for dry skin. It provides lots of moisture, minerals, and vitamins and makes the skin feel great. If you have combo or oily skin, but are dehydrated, you may want to use the liquid to give your skin the added moisture it needs.

PaulineDecember is holiday party season and in her column this month, Liliana Pennington will give you pointers on how to "Shine in the New Year" with Youngblood's "Highlight the Holiday Season," a festive trio of products housed in a black velvet holiday bag. These tips will instantly take you from a day at the office to a night on the town. In our feature, "Instant Classics," we'll also shine the spotlight on some of the other exciting new products Youngblood launched in 2008.

We're continuing what's become one of our most popular features, "Ask The Artist!" where you email us your questions about beauty and have them answered by one of our celebrity makeup artists. If you have any questions, send them to karen@ybskin.com -- we can't wait to hear from you!

We've seen tremendous growth at Youngblood this year and want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your continued support. I hope you enjoy this issue of Radiance. As always, feel free to forward it to your clients and friends. Happy Holidays!

The Holiday season is here and that means parties, celebrations and get-togethers. With this in mind, Youngblood has created  "Highlight the Holiday Season."  This limited edition collection choice to add glam to your personal style.

Illuminate the eyes with "Highlight the Holiday Season's" Pressed Individual Eyeshadow in a shimmery silver, add sparkle to the lips with Reflection Lip Gloss, and Lunar Dust in dazzling Twilight, will provide an extra glow to face and body.

Highlight the Holiday Season

Let "Highlight the Holiday Season" take you from a day at the office to a night on the town in a few simple steps:
  • For an all over luminous appearance, dust Lunar Dust in Twilight on your cheekbones, shoulders and décolleté with the large Kabuki Brush.
  • For a shimmery look, mix your favorite body lotion with the Twilight Lunar Dust  and smooth over the un-covered areas of your body. The more Twilight, the more shimmer. This will not only give you a special holiday sparkle, but will also give your skin a dewy, toned look.

TIP To freshen the eye area

  • To create the illusion of higher cheekbones, gently dust Twilight Lunar Dust (making sure to tap off the excess) above the upper cheek tones of your blush using the Contour Blush Brush.Lunar Dust
  • Getting a manicure before a big event? Sometimes choosing the perfect color to complement your wardrobe can be tricky. Mix clear topcoat enamel with some Twilight Lunar Dust and you've instantly created a fresh, new, sparkly color! Or use this topcoat to add some "twinkle" over nail color.
  • To add sheen and give lips a fuller, pPressed Individual Eyeshadowsouty appearance, start with Youngblood's Lipstick in Mystere and add a dash of Reflection Lip Gloss to the center of the lips.
Hopefully, these pointers will help you make a breathtaking entrance at your next Holiday bash. And remember, let your Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics shine throughout the New Year!
