It seems that after each award show, there's a beautiful new "it girl," whose signature look becomes widely copied. When I'm asked to help someone get that hot new look, my first response is, "How do you apply your make-up?"

One of the most common mistakes women make is applying makeup with their fingers. But for that flawless, "movie star" look, you really have to use the right tools-- and Hollywood makeup artists always rely on great brushes.

The Artist's Secret

This sponge can be used for flawless application (full coverage) of either Natural Mineral Foundation or Liquid Mineral Foundation. It's also excellent for applying the Mineral Rice Setting Powder (as a primer before you apply your foundation, or afterward to set the foundation). You can also use it for blending --in case you have a heavy hand. This sponge will not absorb like a latex sponge will, so you'll save by not using as much product, plus it's washable. (I like to wash it by hand with my facial cleanser, and some makeup artists simply launder it in a lingerie bag, and let it air dry.)

The Ultimate Foundation Brush

The Ultimate Foundation Brush is one of Youngblood's most popular, and for good reason. Pauline's unique "flat top" design enables this brush to give the best buffing technique; by working the perfect amount of foundation into the skin's fine lines, slight imperfections simply disappear! It easily gives medium to full coverage; for sheer coverage, simply use less foundation. And Voila! You're ready for your close-up!

The Kabuki Brushes

The Kabuki Brushes come in both large and small sizes. Both are made from cruelty-free, shorn fluffy goat hair. The large Kabuki brush is a longer and fluffier hair, so is best for lighter coverage. (You can also get more coverage by simply layering more foundation; this is a good technique to keep from applying too much.) The smaller Kabuki brush has shorter, more dense bristles, to give a fuller, more flawless coverage. These brushes are great to apply Natural Mineral Foundation, Mineral Rice Setting Powder, Mineral Radiance, or Lunar Dust.

The Liquid Foundation Brush

This brush is my absolute favorite! Made of the finest, butter-soft synthetic hair, the Liquid Foundation Brush is very dense, so it won't streak when applying liquid. With this brush, you can quickly apply Youngblood Liquid Mineral Foundation, buff out with a flocked sponge, and your foundation looks "airbrushed on". By using this brush (instead of your fingers or a latex sponge) you won't waste product, and it is also more sanitary.

The Super Powder Brush

Made with natural super capra hair, the Super Powder Brush is dense, so is perfect for a very light, sheer coverage. It's great for applying Natural Mineral Foundation, Pressed Mineral Foundation, Mineral Rice Setting Powder, Pressed Mineral Blush, Crushed Mineral Blush, and Mineral Radiance. This is the most versatile brush, and is a "must have" in any makeup kit.

The Contour Brush

Made from elegant natural super capra hair, this brush is perfectly angled for contouring your cheeks or your jaw line. You can use this brush to apply Youngblood Crushed Mineral Blush or Pressed Mineral Blush.

The Concealer Brush

Made of luxurious synthetic
"Gold Toray" hair, this brush is great for applying creamy-textured products, such as Youngblood Ultimate Concealer or Youngblood Liquid Mineral Foundation.
