From Day to Night
with Youngblood Mineral Eyeshadows

In this issue of Radiance, celebrity makeup artist Liliana Pennington focuses on the flexibility of Youngblood Mineral Eyeshadows. Whether you're on the go, at the office, or having an evening on the town, Youngblood's classic color palettes make it easy to transition between daytime and evening looks.

The Fresh Look

For a fresh daytime look, start by choosing either Youngblood Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow or Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quads --in a medium tone, and apply using the eye shadow brush. Blend the color, from lower lash line up into the crease. Then take a lighter shade to highlight underneath the brow bone and down to the crease. You can use the same brush to apply both eye shadows; wipe off the excess color with a tissue in between uses. Finish with a flash of Youngblood Mascara in Sable.

Kick it up a notch for evening

By using a Youngblood Eyeliner Pencil and the new eyebrow brush tool (found in Brow ARTISTE), softly blend the pencil onto the lower lash line. Then go along the top lash and the corner of the outer eye, and blend softly up to the crease. Use a back & forth motion with the Youngblood Crease Brush to soften the pencil finish. Finish the evening look with Youngblood Mascara in Black.

The Sultry Daytime Eye

Start with Youngblood Eye / Lip Brush and Youngblood Eyeliner Pencil in Black. By applying the eyeliner color to the brush first it will act as a base color to the lower eyelid. Cover the entire lower lid and up to the crease of the eye with the eyeliner. By using the Crease Brush you can soften the crease of the eye so that the color looks blended and not a harsh line. You can choose from Youngblood Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow in Granite, or Shanghai Nights & Purple Majesty Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quads. Apply the Quads' second darkest shade, using the Youngblood Eyeshadow Brush, then pat the eye shadow on top of the eyeliner. Wipe the brush off with a tissue, and soften the crease area of the eyelid. Now choose any medium tone eyeshadow. (Alternatively, you can use your blush color; using your blush can add a nice balance to your look.) Using the Youngblood Crease Brush, blend the eyeshadow, starting in the middle part of the eyelid, working upward to softly fade. Finish with a highlight color underneath the brow bone, fading into the medium eye shadow. Add Youngblood Mascara to complete the look.

Turn up the heat at night!

To take the sultry eye to an evening look, all you need is Youngblood Eyeliner Pencil in Black and darker shades of eye shadow (such as Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow in Raven, or the darker shades of the Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quads). Using the eyeliner, rim the inner part of the eye (top and bottom). To give it staying power, apply the darker eye shadows with the eyebrow brush, and place the shadow on top of the liner. "Pop" the lashes with more black mascara.

The New Vintage Quad Shadow

The new hot and very versatile Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Vintage is already a favorite for the Fall season. This Quad is great for daytime and even better for a classic evening.

For a fresh daytime look, start with the Youngblood Ultimate Concealer and the Concealer Brush for a great eyeshadow base. I always recommend a darker shade, as it will cancel out any darkness your lid may have. Using the Youngblood Eyeshadow Brush, blend both Blush and Syrah eye shadows from the Vintage Quad. Apply from the lower lash line up to the crease of the eye. Wipe the excess shadow from the brush onto a tissue, and blend the crease of the eye (so you get a nice even fade of color). For a natural liner, take the Youngblood Luxurious Angle Brush and slightly damp with water, then take the two darker shadows of the quad and apply on the top lash line. Now apply Youngblood Mascara in Sable. Finish with the new Youngblood Brow ARTISTE to softy shade in your brows.

Let's start with Youngblood Eyeliner Pencils (use chestnut for a softer look, or black for a more dramatic finish) and the Eye and Lip Brush. Apply the color of the eyeliner by first using the brush to lift off color from the eyeliner pencil. This way the color of the liner is smooth and blended. Make sure that the color of the liner fades all the way up to the crease. Also apply the liner color to the inside lower lash rim.
