How to Make Your Halloween a Night to Remember
by
Liliana Pennington

Whether you're going out on the town to kick up your heels, or simply putting together a costume for the little girl in your life, Youngblood makes dressing up for Halloween easy, fun, beautiful, and as always, healthy! Celebrity stylist Liliana Pennington shows how to make your Halloween a night to remember...

Want to dress up for Halloween, but still want to pamper your skin? These fun, classic, specialty makeovers use only healthy, skin-loving Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics--and leave your skin looking and feeling great!

The Mystic Fairy.
First, using Youngblood's Large Kabuki Brush, lightly dust Lunar Dust in Twilight all over the face, then Lunar Dust in Sunset on the cheeks and eyelids. To make eyes "pop," apply Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow in Peridot and Heather Smoke, followed by Mascara in Onyx. To complete the look with sweet fairy lips, add some Smitten Lip shine, or Demure or Reflection Lip Gloss.

The Classic Princess.
Starting with Youngblood Crushed Mineral Blush in Rouge, or Pressed Mineral Blush in Blossom, use the Contour Brush right atop of the apples of the cheeks. Next, apply to the eyelids shades of blue from Youngblood's Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Mermaid. For the sweet demure princess, try Lipstick in Just Pink, or in Vivid for the spunky princess. Complete the look with an all-over radiance by dusting Lunar Dust in Twilight all over the rest of the body, using the Youngblood Large Kabuki Brush. (You can even mix the Lunar Dust with a body lotion, for beautiful protection against the harsh Autumn night elements!)

The Bride of Dracula.
Using the Youngblood Large Kabuki Brush, liberally apply Lunar Dust in Twilight, for a moonlit look. Then, using the Super Powder Brush, contour the jaw line, temples, under the cheek bone, and the lower portion of the top eyelid with Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow in Raven. Fill in & define the eyebrow, using Youngblood's new Brow ARTISTE in Dark. Then on the top of the eyelid (right by the lashes) and on the inside of the lower lid, finish the eyes with Youngblood Eye Liner Pencil in Black. To give a little drama to your lips, use the same Eye Liner Pencil in Black, then fill in with Lipstick in Mystere or Crimson, followed by Lip Shine in Jubliee on top of the lipstick.

Hint: For an extra gruesome look, add Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow in Raven to Vaseline, and apply to your front teeth!

Princess Fiona (from Shrek).
To get Fiona's green face, mix in your hands a moderate portion of your favorite moisturizer with Youngblood Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow in Peridot and Irish Moss, and apply liberally to your face and neck. (For a darker green use more of the green eyeshadows). Set by dusting with Mineral Rice Setting Powder in Light. Add Crushed Mineral Blush in Rouge to the apple of your cheeks. Add Eye Liner Pencil in Chestnut to the top of your lids, and Youngblood Mascara in Onyx to your eyelashes. Finish with Lipstick in Bistro.

Leopard Woman

Start by mixing Lunar Dust in Twilight with Liquid Foundation (in your shade), and apply liberally throughout the center of your face and on your eyelids. Then, mix Lunar Dust in Dusk with your shade of Liquid Foundation, and apply along the top of your forehead, and also around the neck and jaw line.

Then, using Eye Liner Pencil in Black, outline your "leopard spots," which should be randomly sized & placed. Now, still using the black Eye Liner Pencil, outline the "cat nose & whiskers" by applying three dots on both sides of the inner center of your cheeks, and right by the dots lightly draw lines outward. Draw a line from the lower tip of the nose and continuing to fill in the entire top and lower lip.

Using the Contour Brush, shade in the outer forehead and cheeks with Crushed Mineral Eyeshadowin Haze. Then with a Super Powder Brush, apply Crushed Mineral Eyeshadow in Coco to the edge of the darker "Haze" shadow. Using the Contour Brush, softly
Lunar Dust
in Dusk onto the center of the nose and forehead.

To give more "pop" to the eyes: line them with Eye Liner Pencil in Black or Chestnut, and add Black Mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

Finish by using Eye Liner Pencil in Black and with Crushed Mineral Eyeshadowin Raven to fill in the "leopard spots." Apply Pressed Mineral Blush in Blossom --and Ultimate Concealer in Light --to the nose area. Then dust the entire face with Mineral Rice Setting Powder

Now start growling!

Youngblood in the fight against cancer

On September 22, 2007, Youngblood was a proud participant in the Cure In The Canyons Beauty-Fest, a charity fundraiser in the fight against breast cancer. Located at Dr. Frank Ryan's Bony Pony Ranch in Malibu, the event featured services from the most prestigious companies in the beauty industry.

Youngblood was there, providing makeovers to breast cancer survivors, answering questions & inquiries, and offering support as needed.

Also on hand were such celebrities as Shannon Tweed, filming for her reality TV show Gene Simmons' Family Jewels.

Enthusiastic attendees patiently waited, sometimes over an hour and a half, for a chance to have a makeover by Youngblood's Hollywood celebrity makeup artists Philip Luque and Val Hernandez.

Four celebratory breast cancer survivors toast each other at the Youngblood booth.

"It's so inspiring to see these women of such courage," said Luque. "These women are beautiful both inside and out, and it's so inspirational to be part of such a worthwhile charity event."

Celebrity makeup artists Philip Luque and Valerie Hernandez with attendees at the Bony Pony Ranch.

Hernandez agrees. "These are women of remarkable substance," she says. "It's thrilling to be able to bring out the beauty they already possess, and watch them light up with happiness. That's why I love Youngblood so much. It's more than makeup; it empowers women."

We'll be back. Look for Youngblood at more chic events soon!

Christine Stewart

You've spoken to them on the phone. You've traded emails. But have you ever wondered what it would be like to meet the people that keep Youngblood running? Meet Christine!

Account representative Christine Stewart has a thorough knowledge of Youngblood, having worked five years in various capacities throughout the company. She is most comfortable, though, in her current position, because she loves to help people. "It's my maternal, nurturing side," says this bubbly mother of three. She also loves the diversity of her clientele. "I just love talking to people from all over. The accents are so cool, and I love hearing about day-to-day lives in other places."

Born in Santa Monica, Christine has the native Californian's love of the outdoors. She loves hiking the beautiful Southern California scenery with her husband, three kids, and pooch-but she loves home and hearth too, where she can always be found maintaining her home, yard, and garden. "I'm always pruning," she says.

So next time you call Youngblood, or see Christine at a trade show, be sure to say hello!
